Looking at the Frame

In the next few weeks I will be spending time focusing outside of Cincinnati. While I will be in NYC later this month and will no doubt blog about an exhibition there, my interest is in exploring art communities and the dynamics that lie just outside of our city.

I am looking forward to taking a closer look at Covington, and Newport, KY, and Yellow Springs, OH as well as finally making a trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. If there is a gallery, museum, or artist you think I should check out, let me know.

Depends on what you are looking for? If you want to see street art and murals in Yellow Springs, there is knit graffiti on the poles of Dayton Street and murals graffiti in Keiths Alley. Art Gallery in the train station bathrooms, and art in most of the restaurants/cafe's, custom ceramic benches in town.
check out the arts council blog for a listing of galleries, or the chamber of commerce for events. June is street fair, lots of fun and there is also 3rd Friday Flings.

Thanks. I'm heading out there today for lunch and a stroll. I plan to see as much as the weather and time will allow.

I expect there will be many more visits after this one.

Hope you have a super day and enjoy lunch.
Oh and see if you can find the nose sculpture on Dayton Street, clue: it is sweet.
