Applause Special on Ohio Arts. Why wasn't the Cincinnati Art Museum part of this discussion?

A recent discussion on the state of the state's art museums included directors from the Wexner Center For the Arts, the Toledo Museum of Art, the Akron Art Museum. and of course the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Why didn't the Cincinnati Art Museum participate in this discussion?

Here is the link with a feed of the program.

Hmm. I don't see Janice Driesbach the extremely articulate director of the Dayton Art Institute on the program. Nor Louis Zona, director of Youngstown's venerable Butler Institute of Arts. Nor Raphaela Platow, director of Cincinnati's Contemporary Arts Center. Etc., etc., etc.

I know you don't post "flames" but have to ask: Did you inquire about why Aaron Betsky was not part of the program - or are you just trying to provoke?

Admittedly, my first impression of the panel was "what happened to the SW part of the state?"

While I agree it would have been wonderful to include all of those directors you mention, my frustration lies locally. I would like to see Cincinnati's vibrant art community be a participating voice in the arts throughout the Midwest.

As you can see from my more recent post, I did inquire about Aaron Betsky. Oh, and of course I am always trying to provoke. Like you (a self-described flamer) I think I can do both.
